Pie Is Nice

Nutella Pie
The grand's were with me over the weekend and upon learning World Nutella Day happened to be today, I decided to make a pie for our weekend dessert in commemoration of the delectable hazelnut spread. They loved it to say the least. Me too.

1-8 ounce package cream cheese
2/3 cup confectioner's sugar
3/4 cup Nutella
2-1/2 cups whipped cream (or whipped topping)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
Shortbread crust

Allow the cream cheese to soften at room temperature and place into a mixing bowl. Sift the confectioner's sugar over the cream cheese and combine well. Add the Nutella and incorporate into the the cheese/sugar mixture. Fold in the whipped cream gently and add the vanilla and almond extract's. Pour into a shortbread crust, refrigerate until firm, slice and serve with a drizzle of chocolate syrup and/or an extra dollop of whipped cream. 

Oh my...this is really good.
